Oak Manor Nursing Home entered a contract with the Veterans Administration to provide nursing care for veterans in VA hospitals nationwide who wish to move back to their home area. Floyd Wampler Dies in Gladewater Funeral Friday
Floyd Bugs Wampler, longtime Gladewater resident and partner in Wampler Bro. Oil Field Supply Co., died Thursday morning after a short illness. Funeral services were held Friday at First Methodist Church with burial in Roseland Cemetery. Survived by wife Goldie a daughter Barbara Phillips a brother Charles Wampler two sisters and two granddaughters. Pallbearers listed.

CTA Begins Plans For School Year In Gladewater
Miss Janet Pursley president of the Gladewater Teachers Association welcomes both returning and new members for the 1969 70 year. Officers include Charline Walker vice president and Doris Muldrew secretary. Pursley attended the Texas Classroom Teachers Association Leadership Conference in Austin August 7 8 and 9. The TC TA theme That We May Know was announced by president LaVene Wong of Waco. Goals include improving communication within the education profession as the association sends information packets to new teachers and sets up a display at the workshop.
