The 22nd East Texas Quarterhorse Breeders Association show runs August 8–9 at Round-Up Rodeo Arena with youth activities, 350 yard four horse races, and open cutting finals. City Se wer Plans Sent to Austin For Approval
City Manager Bill Langford says plans for an east side sewer extension have been sent to the Texas Water Quality Board in Austin for study and approval. The project, costing over 200000, uses revenue bonds approved by voters last December and is 30 percent reimbursable by federal funds. Bids will be advertised in about 30 days with work to begin in 60 to 90 days after approvals.

Mrs Hill Plans Story and Film For Library Hour
Mrs Garfield Hill will tell stories at the Gladewater Public Library Tuesday at 1 p.m. The event includes a film strip on Greek and Roman mythology. Tyler Woman Dies After Personal Shooting Incident
Thelma Ford 46 of 1015 Noon Day Road Tyler died after a gunshot wound to the head suffered at a residence on Lake Gladewater’s west side. Investigators say the wound was safety related. She died Thursday in Dallas after hospital transfer. Survived by husband Frederick son John Franklin Harper mother Ola Musslewhite and two sisters Louise Adams and Mabel Grisham.
