Athens woman Viva Mae Martin dies after illness
Viva Mae Martin 6 of Athens died Tuesday at 7 am in Henderson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a sister of Mrs J W Beavers of Gladewater and resident of Athens since 1928. Funeral services were held Thursday at Hassell and Foster Chapel with burial at Oaklawn Memorial Park. She belonged to First Baptist Church Garden Club and Pilot Club and co owned a grocery store before it closed. Survivors include husband A B Martin son Jack Burroughs two brothers J K Landers and J Landers and a sister Mrs Beavers plus several nieces and nephews.
