Gladewater ISD election update with incumbents seeking reelection
As of 12 30 Saturday noon a total of 62 persons had cast ballots in the Gladewater Independent School District election according to election judge Wilson Godfrey. Incumbents Dr G R Hugman and Garth Cockerell are seeking reelection and are unopposed. Kilgore College board candidates Adrian Dozier and Louis Buddy Willoughby are vying for a seat.

Round-Up Rodeo to Move Back to Refurbished Arena
The Round-Up Rodeo's 38th edition, set for June 11 14, will take place in a mostly refurbished arena with 440 new seats and improved access. President Jack Phillips notes expanded seating, better ramps, a redesigned bulldogging chute and enhanced parking to ease traffic and avoid crowding while adding open barrel racing sanctioning for this year.

Glade fire dept hosts Northeast Texas Firemen convention
Gladewater Fire Department will host the Northeast Texas Firemen’s Association convention on Sunday April 13 at Broadway School. About 295 to 400 firemen and families expected for registration at 10 am lunch at noon and a 1 30 pm business meeting. Demonstrations at the new training area follow the meeting.
