Bonneauville Buys New Fire Truck For 1942 Model Replacement
Bonneauville Fire Company votes to purchase a Darley 497i triple combination fire truck for 17 dollars. The four wheel drive unit will replace a 1942 model and is built to move over fields and through several feet of snow. It features a 500 gallon booster tank, four inch suction hose, safety lights and extra storage. The group plans fundraisers this fall and will discuss donations at the October 6 meeting. Roving Angus Returns to Roof After Theft and Recovery
The blue and black steer named Roving Angus vanished from in front of Utz Steak House on the Carlisle Pike north of Hanover July 1. Harold Utz reported the steer found last week on a Maryland farm after being rustled earlier and first noted on New Oxford square. The steer was recovered by Woodrow Brumgard while delivering propane along Interstate 83 in Hereford area. Utz plans repainting and reattachment to the roof above his meat market on Carsie Street near Clearview Shopping Center, where it was originally exhibited.

Police Dog Subdues Man After Rifle Fire Threat
RCMP officers confronted Nelson in a cabin clearing with a rifle held aloft. A police dog was released and knocked him down without any shots fired. Three Wasyk daughters survived the incident, two hiding or fleeing to safety.
