Substitute for Church Bells in England

An English proposal suggests using steel bells as substitutes for cast bells. Dr Ferdinand Robles argues steel bells, already used in the United States and Germany, could open a new industry in England and possibly satisfy demand from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India. Steel bells offer melodious sound, lighter weight, easier installation, reduced cracking, climate resilience, and lower cost, enabling peals in small churches and missions with a three to one cost saving compared with cast bells.
