Andrews Graded School Prospectus Preview

New Nesmith Live Stock Co Stable Opens on Duke and Wood

A city stroll at 6 80 am reveals the Nesmith Live Stock Co corner on Duke and Wood streets showing a newly erected stable with twelve stalls and four rear squares each with a drinking fountain. The builders C D Cook and J F Bourne describe a central bookkeeper office and a bay window end. plans include a carriage house, stock of buggies, fresh cakes and crackers, and cash premiums at C P Foxworth 119.

Seed value warning from South Carolina Farmers Union

President Dobbs of the South Carolina State Farmers Union urges farmers in Mayesville on September 13 1911 to store cotton seed and not sell. He cautions that cotton seed meal and by products could fetch 28 to 30 dollars per ton and recommends using seed as fertilizer until markets improve. Pick and gin cotton dry and protect seed from weather.
