London reports Dr Hawley H Crippen facing execution on November 23 asserts his innocence and claims evidence against him was inconclusive. He says he learned of the Hilldrop Crescent remains after Bow Street arrival and laments failed appeals and a shattered dream of a home with his partner.
In South Pittsburg Tennessee Judge Byron Pope wagered that Taylor would win the governorship and Horace N. Minnis would back Hooper. The loser must climb Cumberland Mountain at night without shoes trousers or coat. Judge Pope fulfilled the bet last Wednesday with no ladies present.
An American widow, ill and destitute, pleads with Governor Ansel to locate her son William Lowe, last heard from in South Carolina two years earlier. She describes his work as a window dresser and show card writer and notes his popularity and musical talent, urging inquiries to identify his current city in England and whether letters reach him via the general post office.
A Wichita fire destroyed stables of the Wichita and Southwestern Fair Association killing forty five race horses valued at about $30,000. The total loss reached $168,000 with $125,000 in stables and $10,000 for carts and harnesses. Origin of the blaze is not yet known.

Harrison Walker transfers 19.34 acres in No. 6 Township to Sarah Gurley. H. L. Smith sells 104 acres in No. 4 Township to J. B. Johnson.

Roy fined 25 dollars for gasoline sold in measures eight gallons to ten. Abner Workman fined 100 dollars for a 14 karat gold bracelet assaying nine karat. The paper urges readers to beware and ensure they get what they pay for.
