San Francisco May 29 Refusing to yield to bandits demands American railroad superintendent Robert J. Sweasey of the Central Railroad of Michoacan was burned at the stake on May 16 in Ajuno Michoacan. Refugee Joseph Hansfelder arrived detailing the killing, house burned and Sweasey lashed to a post. Sweasey's wife reportedly captured.

Allentown Pennsylvania May 29 Building Inspector Frank R Minner suffered a bystander friendly accident when his glass eye exploded while he chatted with a friend He collapsed unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where he remained in serious condition Doctors suspect celluloid was used in place of glass and sun heat focused by an unreceptive mirror sparked the blast Local physicians note this is the first such incident in history and fear eye particles may have penetrated his brain
Washington May 2. Archi bald Watkins an experienced inventor offers to sell patents for handling fog to the government. He claims his fogs can be controlled easily and used to surround enemies in invasion attempts by land water or air to keep them confused in darkness.

A personal note from J. L. Southers of Eau Claire describes severe back pain and poor sleep, claiming kidney pills improved appetite and health. The writer asserts pills cured him and emphasizes the importance of sound sleep for health.
