Shooting at His Sister in Law Sparks Manhunt in Goldville

In Laurens County a sensational shooting occurred at noon when John Anderson fired three times at his sister in law over a rejected marriage. One bullet grazed her hair and two pierced clothing. He fled to Lydia Mill but was captured later that afternoon near Clinton after a reward was posted by Goldville Cotton Mill Superintendent Wright.
