Sonin Law Shoots Neighbor in John Street Tragedy
Ben M. Picquet shot and killed Charles W. Cooper at No 13 John Street around 1 pm. Cooper, aged about 40 and a quarrelsome moulder, had confronted Picquet over family disputes involving Picquet’s daughter and Cooper’s wife. Picquet surrendered at the station. the shotgun loaded with buckshot and a pistol were recovered, and the coroner took charge of Cooper's body.
