He warns common varieties worsen disease and advocates planting the two resistant cowpeas and strict crop rotation to protect cotton, corn, and other staples.
Mrs J KE Ox of Joliet Illinois attributes a near death from typhoid pneumonia to a dreadful cough to her illness. She writes that after failing to improve with doctors and other medicines she used Dr King’s New Discovery and now hardly coughs. The advertisement touts the remedy as quick and safe for throat and lung issues with a trial bottle offered.
A San Antonio note by Hugh Tallman praises Dr Kings New Life Pills as a source of new life and energy. He claims they’re best for stomach, liver and kidney troubles and states the price is 25 cents at all druggists.
The ad claims magnitos infect blood with malaria causing chills fever and weakness, but Electric Bitters kill germs and restore appetite and strength. W. M. A judge named Cherry of Gills Mills Tonn suffered a bad leg sore baffling doctors. He believed cancer until using Buck Jen's Amica Salve, which he says cured it. The salve treats burns boils ulcers cuts bruises and piles, priced 60 cents at druggists.
