Murdered wife killed by husband in Charleston no 71 King street
A maniac husband attacked his wife Annie Addison with an axe in the second floor front room of 71 King Street. Private John C. Addison shot the assailant, Joseph Addison, mortally wounding him. the killer died later at Roper hospital while coroner O Donnell took charge.

May 9 Macon Georgia reported that veterans from both sides plan a July 1913 reunion at Gettysburg to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the battle. Confederate Veterans joined the North in accepting the Grand Army of the Republic invitation despite committee opposition. General Walker hailed the event as a historic step toward ending old hostilities and predicted unity.

Tragic Romanian Family End Their Lives In Bucharest
A Bucharest family of twelve, including grandparents and nine children, all killed themselves after two sons died by suicide over money trouble. The others, intoxicated on beer, later died from charcoal fumes in a garret. Next morning all were found dead.
