The Court of General Sessions opened with Judge Ernest Gary presiding. Grand jurors and many petit jurors were drawn. one foreman was elected, and the grand jury reviewed indictments including cases of rape grand larceny livestock theft burglary and warehouse thefts.
Washington March 23 Special. In a suburban crash between an automobile carrying Maj. Gen. Bell head of the Army and a trolley car, Bell was seriously injured while the wife of Maj. Slocum of the Seventh Cavalry was instantly killed. Bell probable to recover.
City Council schedules a semi monthly meeting at 8:30 pm to discuss the Electric Light Franchise. Public input requested on duplicate machinery, city purchase rights, and meter testing provisions. Mr Case notes that minimum service rates are included in the contract under review.
A Savannah reader requests the manager's name for Georgetown's upcoming summer baseball squad so he may try to join. The letter to the Daily Item's sporting editor mentions Georgetown forming a team and asks for contact details.

Bernard Lizer a young New York painter living at 541 West 133rd Street gave blood to save a life and shortly after fainted in a subway. He died after falling from a fifth floor scaffold at 1812 Amsterdam Avenue. He left a wife and five month old child.

Louis Zarchy shot his fiancée Annie Berson after a confrontation at No. 305 East Ninety ninth street New York. Annie survived with powder marks while Louis was subdued by Officer George Rowley as a mob demanded lynching. The pistol carried four blank cartridges.
