Last Friday night at Mr. R C Marshall's residence in Moody a benefit box party supported Spring Galley School. Ice cream and cakes drew a large crowd, the fish pond entertained children, and evergreen moss decor brightened the parlor while W J Parker and Bertie Flowers provided music. Gross receipts totaled 60 dollars.
The Georgetown County Board of Commissioners met for the regular semi monthly session with Supervisor J B Johnson and Commissioners H T McDonald and G E Scott. A letter from Mrs A J Moore requesting aid was approved. The Daisy Bank Ferry matter was directed for action by the Supervisor. Adjournment followed. Elizabeth K Doyle Clerk.

The Township Board of Assessors for the County and the Special Board for the City will meet at the Auditor's office on Monday, the 98th of March next, at 10 a.m. to consider the returns as made by the Auditor. H. C. TALLEVAST, Auditor.

Douglass Vanderford a 14 year old son of James Vanderford was accidentally shot by his father while the rifle was being cleaned at their home three miles from Jonesville. The 32 calibre ball passed through the boy's breast and he received a dangerous wound. Doctors Southard and Hames attended him.
Los Angeles March 21. The body of 37 year old David Wilmot Dwyer son of a wealthy family was found in an isolated mountain ranch house. The corpse showed extensive mutilation including a shot wound to the left side and throat slashing. Relatives say they fear murder clues while suspects consider self-inflicted death. Dwyer had been dead about 24 hours and had estrangement with his father.
A letter argues physicians wrongly prescribe alcohol to women, citing a case where a seventeen year old, after being advised to drink beer for nourishment, develops a deadly dependency. The writer questions blame between doctor and patient and highlights harm to seven children and the mother.

John W. Smith fined five dollars for contempt of court. Dan Horry arrested for selling whiskey pleaded guilty and paid. Marshalltown Iowa reports the Green Mountain collision of Rock Island trains 19 and 21 on the St Paul Line from Cedar Rapids to Marshalltown. Forty two dead and forty injured, many unidentified, as surgeons from nearby towns rush to aid victims. A prior Shelburg wreck is linked as the indirect cause with detours over the Great Western.

Later trade slowed and prices settled around three points higher.
