The women of Georgetown will open an exchange at The Easton Novelty Store on April 1. Membership costs 25 cents for three months. Each member may sell her fancy work or cooking while the exchange takes ten percent of sales. For three months, prices are limited to 25 cents and under. Those wishing to join should call at The Easton Novelty Store to receive a membership card.

Seaboard Air Line Likely to Reach Georgetown and Charleston
Local reports say the Seaboard Air Line plans a Georgetown route via the Georgetown and Western tracks to Andrews, with Charleston and Mount Pleasant seen as future terminals. Construction appears rapid with 90 pound rails laid toward Charleston for lumber mill traffic, while talk centers on a freight terminal at the foot of Society Street and possible joint use of a union station for passenger service. Professor J H Armstrong of Spartanburg left a subscription to The Daily News.

Courthouse Shootout Kills Judge and Officials in Hillsville
Hillsville Virginia March 14 a group of outlaws rode to Carroll County Court House and assassinated Judge Massie and Commonwealth's Attorney Foster as they sat at the bench and near the bar while a death sentence was about to be imposed on Floyd Allen. Sheriff Webb fell dead and Clerk Goad was wounded. Jurors and onlookers were shot and many wounded. A posse pursued the band as a special train with detectives reached Galax nine miles away and Governor Mann offered a 3000 dollar reward.
