Spectator Witnesses Lethal Electric Shock At Ball Grounds

In Columbia on June 28 a man was electrocuted by a live wire as he hung from a pole at the ball grounds. About two thousand spectators watched as rescue attempts failed after the wires were cut and the body lowered. Medical examiners said the victim was beyond help.
