Georgetown Land Enterprise Drives South Carolina Farm Growth
Georgetown correspondent reports that capitalists and North Carolina farmers purchased 3,500 acres along the Black River six miles from Georgetown to clear timber and develop farm lands. Mills, houses, and 25 to 50 acre parcels will be built and sold at reasonable terms to workers, with demonstration farms to attract prospects. The Land and Lumber Company of Georgetown F. C. lists I. H. Morton W M Morton Ros Huntley and W H Gurledge of Wadesboro as principals.
