Social Function row sparks backlash over interracial dating in Minneapolis
A reader denounces a Minneapolis Journal report on a Manassas Club event at Knights of Pythias Hall where colored men with white partners were to attend a dancing party. The letter condemns interracial mingling as ruinous and argues for suppression of such gatherings. Also reported is the fatal misidentification shooting of Mrs. Edna Humelhagen by Herbert Springer in Rockford, who mistook her for a different woman and killed her while she pushed a baby carriage.
