Court sessions hear varied cases in Georgetown

The Georgetown Daily Item reports the Court of General Sessions convened with Judge Hydrick. Henry A. Green pleaded guilty to housebreaking and latency and received one year on the county chain gang. Rhett Washington turned state's evidence. Lawrence and Montgomery pleaded not guilty. Dr Farris pled guilty to practicing dentistry without a license and paid a $50 fine. Nancy Washington pled guilty to edivency and received nine months hard labor in the state penitentiary. The Seabrook livestock larceny case ended in mistrial. Jury list included Doran Hazard Ford Power Cook Baxley Bailey Harrelson Dawson Robbins.

At the Marlboro Veterans reunion in Columbia two veterans met a Lexingtonian who asked for Governor An sel. Sim P. Wright introduced the man to Thomas J. Breeden and the crowd hailed him as Governor elect. The Governor hunter celebrated Breeden’s election and role with praise and warm congratulations from old comrades.

Engine strikes Buggy on Franklin Street crossing

In Spartanburg on June 3 a yard engine crashed into a buggy at the double tracks on Franklin Street. John Williams, a colored man, was killed when his head hit a telegraph pole. James Bryson, a white man, was injured with a broken shoulder and severe bruises as the horse died and the buggy was destroyed.

Armstrong Granted Bail in Abbeville Murder Case

Before Judge Klugh in Abbeville C C Armstrong was granted bail set at one thousand dollars. The tooth extractor is charged with killing Mrs Carrie Berry after extracting eleven teeth. the case goes to the Sessions Court convening next Monday.

On account of the illness of a witness in the case of Mrs. Blair charged with the murder of her husband there is a possibility she may not be tried this term. A physician's certificate was presented to Judge Dantzler certifying the witness cannot attend court and was given to the defense Nelson and Nelson.
