In Washington on July 5 a seven inch live frog crawled and croaked inside Mrs L V King of Deanwood for eleven months. Doctors at Emergency Hospital pumped it out after the patient nearly suffocated and fainted from the creature until it was preserved in alcohol.
In Rome Iowa on July 5 a bank robbery at the Rome Savings Bank ends with robber Charles Clark of Mount Pleasant killed in a running gunfight with a posse after shooting cashier F W Hileman. The stolen cash is recovered. J O Laughlin is wounded lightly.
Sealed bids will be received at this office on or before noon the first Monday in August 1912 for completing the County Line Stock Fence between Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties. Contract awarded to the lowest responsible bidders. Signed H D Munnerlyn County Supervisor.
