Tariff graft costs the consumer, says Miles
In a trade journal, H. E. Miles, president of the National Association of Implement and Vehicle Manufacturers, denounces tariff profits as robbing consumers. He cites profits, price markups, and a push to consolidate into a trust, arguing 45 percent protection funds price hikes that ultimately crush the consumer. He calls on the multitude to resist plunder by a few trust magnates.
