A thirty day sale offers 25 to 50 percent off on bedroom suites dining room sets and sideboards. A bedroom suit valued at 150 is offered for 85 dollars. The play Damon and Pythias will be presented next Tuesday night December 17 under Knights of Pythias auspices. Edouard D Oize and Edward Clark will play Damon and Pythias, with Mrs D Oire as Calanthe and strong local talent supplementing the cast.

Samuel Anderson of Grand Rapids Michigan faced arraignment after trying to jump from a Lackawanna ferryboat in Hoboken. Deckhand Edgar Wilson saved him. Anderson, claiming despair over a rejected marriage proposal, said he intended to die. He was discharged on promising good behavior.

The Interstate Finance and Trust Company Bank at Big Stone Gap Virginia did not open and announced voluntary bankruptcy. Cashier A Witt was named assignee. Depositors are owed about 160000 dollars and loans total roughly the same. The bank had about 30000 dollars in other banks and only about three thousand on hand. Depositors are expected to be paid in full.
Director Hornaday of the Bronx Zoo returns from a two month expedition into northwest Mexico. Dr D T McDougal John M Phillips and Godfrey Syke are among the first whites to traverse the region. They counted at least 500 extinct volcanos and captured mountain sheep including a specimen standing thirty nine inches tall at the shoulder.
The 605 foot steamer Legrand S. DeGraff arrives from Superior with 421000 bushels of wheat, the largest cargo ever loaded on the Great Lakes.
