Night Riders Rampage Hits Hopkinsville Kentucky
Five hundred masked and armed night riders attacked Hopkinsville causing over 200000 in property damage. The mob shot out windows burned buildings and damaged the newspaper office owned by the mayor. Two men were injured Lindsay Mitchell tobacco buyer and a brakeman shot in the back. Local services were overwhelmed as trains telegraph and power offices fell to the raid.

Tiger Kills Polar Bear In Wild Animal Show
At the Johnny Jones Exposition in Timmonsville a tiger named Romeo attacked a Polar bear during a staged act. The tiger sank its fangs into the bear’s jugular, killing it swiftly as other animals reacted to the blood scent and trainer von Waldo displayed bravery.

Rescued From Church Steeple After Three Hours
Arthur O Donnell a steeplejack from New Rochelle New York was rescued by firemen after three hours on a frail seat 190 feet up the spire of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. The fall line entangled in a cornice and the seat was lowered by tearing a hole in the steeple. His hands and face were frozen.
