Torrey Ends Remarkable Chicago Evangelistic Campaign

Rev. Dr. Torrey closed tonight one of the most remarkable evangelistic campaigns in Chicago history. Meetings in large steam heated tents drew about 8,000 on Sundays and 3,000 on other nights. He delivered 135 sermons to over 275,000 listeners and about 3,200 persons professed conversion. He departed for Philadelphia, then to Virginia for more meetings after a week’s rest.

Groom Drowns in Bath Tub at Ossining Home

Ossining New York December 1 Charles L Ferguson Jr a New York businessman who married two months ago drowned in a bath tub at his home. His wife retired earlier that night and awoke several hours later to find his body. The coroner ruled he fainted and his head slipped beneath the water.
