Mock Court Trial Draws Public Interest in Georgetown

A Georgetown Rifle Guards event at the Auditorium on Monday April 29 features a Breach of Promise mock trial with Hon. Walter Hazard as judge and Miss Mary Edith McFal versus Mr Andrew Farrally as plaintiff and defendant. Blease Delivers Two Speeches in Spartanburg Area

Governor Col. L. Blease spoke at Woodruff and Enoree then returned to Spartanburg for the night. The Woodruff crowd was large and politically charged with Jones supporters present. At Enoree a similar large turnout greeted him as he urged voters to back his record without naming opponents.

Beaufort April 14 Truck is growing well as truck commission merchants watch. Peas radishes and lettuce are thriving with 100 acres of Irish potatoes on Myers farm at Hilton Head and 1 800 acres expected to plant. ATL yields could reach 65 000 carloads and 125 000 baskets of lettuce with market value over 400 000 alongside 8 000 bales of cotton. Brays Island and others plan 500 acres of sweet potatoes for July with Jersey sweets as the preferred Northerners favored variety.

Sixty Four Titanic Victims Recovered by Mackay Bennett

From St John s Newfoundland April 21 the cable steamer Mackay Bennett has recovered sixty four bodies near the Titanic disaster area. Many recovered remains were sunk again due to lack of identification marks and Cape Race wireless could not identify the names. The report says the sixty four bodies are regarded as identifiable.
