Pittsburg April 19 Dr Woodrow Wilson Princeton University professor for twenty years and president for eighteen warned that Abraham Lincoln would not have served the country if he had been college bred He urged Princeton alumni to democratic regeneration and criticized churches and universities for serving the wealthy over the masses He argued that American colleges must shed exclusiveness and align with common people to lead political reform.

Recorder's Court Disposes Cases Morning Session

In the Recorder's Court, Recorder Shuford disposed of cases this morning. Robt Fraser was guilty of fighting and causing a disturbance and fined 10 dollars or 30 days. Fraser also pled guilty to using obscene language on the streets and was fined 10 dollars or thirty more days. Charlie C Miller was guilty of violating the health ordinance and fined 2 dollars, paid.

Sensational hog market drop reports across cities

In Louisville on April 19 buyers pushed prices down seventy five cents a hundred pounds with top hogs at nine dollars. The market grew demoralized as the week’s decline reached two dollars and ten cents from a recent peak. In Chicago the latest arrivals reduced prices by about one dollar over the past two days.
