Nashville reports public anger at Governor Patterson for freeing Cooper with Patterson burned in effigy. New York notes Astor Waldorf has donated an extensive sum to combat tuberculosis, signaling strong tuberculosis funding commitments.
Nashville April 14. The bond for Robin J. Cooper to appear at the next Criminal Court term on an indictment for the murder of former United States Senator E. W. Carmack was fixed at 10000 by the State Supreme Court. The lower court’s twenty year penitentiary sentence against Cooper and his father was wiped out. Cooper is indicted only, not convicted, and the case will be on the Davidson County docket in May. Governor Patterson gave no comment on the pardon yesterday.
Greenville report says Ben Allen 204 Hammett street was found with a bullet in his head at 2 a.m. The coroner's jury ruled death by wound unknown. A boarder, Lindley, was arrested later for the alleged murder, but he denies the charge.
Charles Revalee nineteen confessed in Richmond to beating and burning Mrs Charles Allison to death at her Cambridge City area home. Police say robbery motive, after Mrs Allison interrupted his search for valuables. He fled to Richmond after setting the house ablaze.

Laurens April 14 Mrs Gev F Young received a Birmingham message stating her brother Arnold Anderson of the United States revenue service was dead from wounds suffered in a pitched battle with moonshiners yesterday at Oakman Alabama. The deceased was the youngest son of the late Prof James D Anderson former president of Laurensville Female College. Mrs Young left for Birmingham this afternoon.
