A local writer objects to a Sunday lecture by Christian gentlemen on a secular topic linked to the Knights of Pythias. He argues the event diverts Easter Sunday worship and church attendance, calling it a protest against using Sunday for non religious lectures despite the lecture's beauty.

West Andrews April 11. Mrs G W Harrelson remains critically ill with no hope of recovery. A fish fry at Potato Ferry bridge on Black River featured music by the town orchestra. Drought worries farmers as rain is needed. Four automobiles were purchased by West End businessmen. If a new county with Andrews as seat forms, a stock company and bank will be established.
D Swift and Co patent lawyers list shows inventors and patents across states from Virginia to South Carolina including a trolley line circuit breaker and friction clutch. Copies are sent on ten cent request to readers via Washington, D. C. correspondence.
Doctors in Los Angeles operated to remove a nine inch table knife from the stomach of Mrs Sarah Carlson an insane woman. The operation succeeded and she is reported recovering. The knife had remained in her stomach for several hours before doctors agreed to operate suspecting a joke.
The ad proclaims Hall's Catarrh Cure as the cure for catarrh, claims it treats the disease constitutionally, and asserts a $100 reward for any case it fails to cure. It states the remedy is taken internally and claims testimonials support its effectiveness, signed by FP J Cheney & Co of Toledo.

In Memphis on April 11 J C Mars lost control of a Curtis biplane sending it 25 feet onto the canopy of a touring car. Mrs Edward Ritter and two other women were aboard with Louis Ritter and Mrs Wilmer Smith. Mrs Ritter sustained a slight shoulder cut while Mars escaped with minor injuries.
The firm of W. A. Hanks and F. F. Hanks doing business as W. A. Hanks & Co has dissolved by mutual consent. W. A. Hanks will continue the business and assume all debts. Creditors are to payment to W. A. Hanks. Signed W. A. Hanks F F. Hanks Andrews S. C. April 1 1910.
Tarkie Missouri April 11. David Rankin a leading farmer with 24000 acres in Missouri and 6000 across Iowa says beef and pork will never be cheaper. He built wealth from farming starting with none and blames high meat prices on supply demand and hog shortages. Rankin claims he is the largest individual pork packer in the United States.
Extension bulletin warns the Black Rot fungus endangers field and storage crops. It spreads through diseased potatoes and slips, survives in soil, and worsens with annual planting in the same land. Advice covers disease free seed, using vines, bank separation, and disinfecting storage houses with formaldehyde or copper sulfate.
Mrs. Kate Waters of Lenoir NC says Cardui the woman's tonic made her stronger after a two week wash, claiming she is "stouter than I have ever been." The ad urges others to use Cardui to relieve headaches backaches and ailments of weak women and notes decades of use. The ad directs readers to the Chattanooga Medicine Co.
