Treasury Act Establishes Gold Payments and Vault Construction

Passenger boat disaster yields minor injuries and losses

Sailors report a boat collision with two vessels owned by the Wiknington and Raleigh Rail Road Company. Passengers escaped in night clothing, and substantial money losses are noted. A catfish oddity was observed on North Taskind Beach, described by Jno. D. Ford, Esq. The specimen may join the Charleston Library Society cabinet of curiosities.
