Obituary of Laura M Emmert of Blue Rapids Kansas
Laura M Emmert wife of George S Emmert died June 17 after three in the afternoon. Born February 11 1843 at Port Huron New York she moved with her parents to Wisconsin and later lived in Illinois before settling in Kansas in 1881. The family resided on farms near Herkimer and later Blue Rapids Marysville and surrounding areas. Funeral services were held at the house and Prospect Hill cemetery with Rev Mover of the Presbyterian church officiating and the Marysville WRK assisting. Pallbearers included A E Sweetland T F Hunter and others with mourners from St Joseph Omaha Long Island NY and Summerfield attending. The obituary notes she was a loving wife and mother and member of the Presbyterian church.
