Shooting Woman Gets Year for Malice Near Montville

Leonard Wroblewski, a Campbell home boarder, was found guilty of shooting Mrs. Martha Campbell on July 30 near her home in Montville. He received one year in county jail with nine months suspended, followed by two years probation and bi monthly reporting. The case arose after a court session that included viewing the shooting scene Route 86 Route 166 Montville Township.

Newbury PTA Opens Season with Finance Talk

Newbury PTA opens its season at Newbury school next Tuesday October 9 with A D St Clair expert on school financing speaking on Adequate School Facilities for Geauga. 4 H Banquet Set Tonight Honors Geauga-Lake 4 H Members

The fourth annual 4 H Recognition Banquet for Geauga-Lake achievement in 4 H club work will be held at The Old Tavern in Unionville on October 4 at 6 45 PM. Thirty six 4 H members from Geauga County will be recognized and honored. Six Year Old Diane Marie Hein Byler Dies

Diane Marie Hein Byler six died Sunday at Corey hospital from an undetermined cause. Daughter of Ernest A. and Katherine Hein Byler of Burton, she had just started school and is survived by a sister and a brother. Services were held at St Mary's Church in Chardon with burial in Chardon Village Cemetery.

The Claridon P T A formed by about 20 charter members will hold its first regular meeting Friday Oct 5 at 8 p m in Claridon Town Hall. 24 Charges Against Sheriff Dismissed

Twenty four indictments against Sheriff Stuart Harland were dismissed on a technicality. The judge ordered remaining 48 charges to proceed to trial.

Polio Fund In the Red in Geauga

The Geauga County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis reports its worst finances in ten years with four polio cases in Geauga County this year and 10 patients from 1948 and 1949 still in care. Treasurer Lester Ray described the need for more national funds, noting a $2,000 balance and a $19,500 national check used for past bills. He cited a single case costing about $3,500 and forecast further requests to the foundation. A November meeting will plan a door to door drive and volunteers are urged to help as March of Dimes extends to January 1952.

Rotarians to Pay for Hearing Tests for Geauga Children

Geauga County Rotarians will fund a complete hearing and speech test program for all county school children. Dr. W. P. Edmunds announced tests by the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center during the last two weeks of October. All county children will be tested at once for the first time, with results summarized and published and follow up by county health nurses.
