Drowning Victims Remain Missing As Funeral Services Held
Funeral services were held for Gerald Fisk ten at St Patrick's church Huntsburg for the ten year old who drowned while swimming with his sister in a pond on the Earl Knapp farm. The body was recovered after two hours of search and the coroner ruled accidental death. Meanwhile Joe Cerra twenty two of Cleveland remains missing after a drowning at Lake Aquilla during a company picnic. Local sheriff's officers and fire departments continued the search.

Eging Realty Plans 15 New Homes in Chardon by Year End
The Eging Realty Company announced a goal of building 15 new homes in Chardon by year end. Sites on Park Avenue start at Wilson Mills Road and extend east, with two homes erected and a third due in three weeks. Homes are 100 by 200 foot lots with full basements, prefabricated by Pullman Manufacturing Co. of Toledo, Ohio.

Pignapped Pig Escapes After Long Night

West Geauga Debates Kindergarten Start
West Geauga school district residents debated a September kindergarten as 755 voters favored delaying the program amid a new building project and planned consolidation with Newbury. Leander Randall Canfield known as Ranney, 78, died after an illness Thursday. Born in Chardon, he studied at Buchtel College and Ohio State University, earned a law degree in Ann Arbor, practiced in Cleveland, served on the Cleveland City Council, and belonged to Masonic orders. He had ties to the Sycamore Hills Rifle Club and is survived by his brother Ira Canfield and several nephews and nieces. Funeral Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the cemetery.

Fred Barnes Dies in Cleveland Friday
Huntsburg native Fred Barnes aged 74 died in Cleveland Friday morning after a period of failing health. His body returned to Huntsburg for burial. He is survived by his wife Fannie Hamm Barnes, a son Donald of Cleveland, a daughter Bertha Taylor of Michigan, a sister Lottie Beardsley of Huntsburg, and three brothers Orrin of Mesopotamia Wilson and George of Middlefield.

Reverse Conviction on Speeding Charge
A $10 fine on a speeding charge by Mayor Donald C. Muchmore for Richard McMaster of Chardon was appealed to Common Pleas. The court reversed the conviction and rendered final judgment in favor of McMaster by Common Pleas Judge William K. Thomas on Friday, based on continuance of the case in the mayor's court.

Rites were held for Miss Susan Bethune of Chardon who died from injuries after a June 28 traffic accident near Welsh field. Her mother Mrs. Margaret Bethune remains hospitalized, and a brother James of New Rochelle survives. Susan Bethune, born August 15 1888 in Farmdale, was an assistant librarian and former East Cleveland teacher.
