In Steubenville Ohio on March 26 State Prohibition Inspector W L Lewis stopped a car carrying Mrs Samuel Courey and her husband. A search revealed a five gallon jug of whisky hidden beneath an ankle length dress. She paid 400 dollars and her husband 600 dollars in fines.
Elmer S. Huckins, gray haired patriarch of a "father and son" venture promising 52 percent returns, is jailed in Cedar Rapids after failed efforts to block extradition from Wisconsin. His son George E. Huckins was convicted on similar charges and faces 1 to 7 years. investors accuse them of defrauding more than 3 million dollars.
A nine year old boy, Leroy Rothrock, nearly went blind and fainted during school play. Dr. W S Jennings tied the incident to violent exertion and insufficient oxygen, noting the event echoed dangers from car exhaust fumes and potential poisoning if exposure continues. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined 100 dollars and costs but, unable to pay, committed to the state penal farm to cover the fine and costs. Physicians say his illness is not curable.
Lawrence Isenbarger, 29, of Lynn Indiana, was sentenced to ten years in Michigan City state prison for robbing a filling station attendant of $13.50 on February 18. He has been linked by police to 23 prior station holdups. Judge James A. Collins imposed the sentence in Marion Criminal Court.

Three men robbed Harry Peck a Baltimore jewelry salesman on a Chicago street seizing two wallets with diamonds valued over 100000. They forced him into a building lobby after showing guns and vanished into crowds. Peck aided police by viewing suspect photos at the identification bureau.
