The Garland Y L A program for the Annual Opening Day exercises is set for next Tuesday evening September 13 at Garland hall. Welcoming address by President Nellie Rose, violin solo by J H Kirkham, remarks by Stake Board members, piano solo by Alissa Manning, paper on natural work by Lucy King, and solo by FreA Rogers. Everyone is invited.
The Garland Primary association won the 500 dollar prize in a city singing contest held last Saturday afternoon. Riverside placed second and North Garland third. Elwood received the third prize of 1.00. Several children won prizes in a ticket sale. Judges were Wesley Carter, Mary Burns and Mrs August Nichols. Mrs Maggie Wixom led Garland children with Garland North led by Miss Eva Rice. Elwood and Riverside had no leader.

On September 3 1910 Garland First Counselor David B E Manning was released and replaced by Thomas E E Secrist in the bishopric high council. September 4 1910 Bear River Stake YM YL MIA convention at Garland concluded with a joint session and program presided by Frank D Welling.
Tickets go on sale May 6 for trips east via the Oregon Short Line to Cheyenne Denver Colorado Springs Pueblo Kansas City St Louis Omaha Chicago St Paul Minneapolis and other points. Final limit October 31 with multiple June July and August travel dates and rates available from agents.
