Last Monday Luther Lowry of Fielding was severely injured in an accident when a steam threshing machine frightened his horse. The horse bucked, throwing Lowry headfirst. he lay unconscious for 19 hours, then regained some awareness before a second lapse. Dr. R. H. Dunn attended. recovery hopes hinge on brain concussion treatment.
The Ladies Sell Culture Club met in regular session at Mrs. Jon Jensen’s home with twelve members present. Vice president Mrs. W D Lewis led the gathering and Mrs. M A Boothe read Beverly of Granatark. Refreshments followed and the group adjourned for two weeks to meet at Mrs. James Comba’s home. The Box Elder Americans backed both Democrat and Republican slates at a well attended convention at the Brigham City opera house last Saturday. Democrats chosen include Wyco L Eddy for Representative, Allen Reach for Commissioner, Hyrum Standing for Recorder, and Fred Petersen for Clerk. Republicans named Elias Jensen for Assessor, A E Jensen for School Superintendent, 8 M Cole for Treasurer, Melvin Nebeker for Surveyor, with James Coll for Sheriff, W F House for Commissioner, and George R Chase for Attorney. An evening rally at the opera house featured speakers Weber and Weir.
G G Lundberg of Rocky Mountain Bell visits to oversee retreat and announce a new local manager after Delos Bacon leaves. Lundberg will be in charge until a replacement arrives, with W P Pratt and W F Madsen soliciting Bell business and Felix Baird of Brigham collecting for the Bell.
The eighteen month old child of Mr and Mrs William King died in Logan from Invitation complications with Marasmus. The infant was brought back to the city for funeral services held at the ward hall with Bishop Grover presiding. Speakers included Elder Anderson Alvin Psen F D Welling and D E Manning offered comfort. Burial followed at the city cemetery with Lp Grover dedicating the grave. Community offers sympathy to the bereaved parents.
Mrs M D Evans left yesterday morning to visit relatives in Provo Moron Jensen of Mantua attended to business Tuesday. Sheriff Joseph Josephson of Brigham seeks reelection. August Jeppson of Owens meet market ill Wednesday with chills and fever. The office acts as collection agency for MBEMIVULUGY book payments. Allen of Nancy Idaho visited to inspect a farm. Dr Samuel C Hooker of American Sugar Refining Co and M I Fendel of Idaho Sugar Co toured Gat land factory. Mrs W P Eaton returned from Salt Lake City with health improvement. Miss Mabala Garn left Booth Marcan Produce Co for Salt Lake City. After season, Aiter Bros discontinued ice cream and soda water for winter. Stohl Brothers sell Good Luck Mang es and aim to please.
One day remains to register. Sunset Precinct voters must go to the Garland Globe office to complete registration today.
