Mrs Amelia K Jensen Dies in Brig ham City

Mrs Amelia K Jensen of Brig ham City wife of P C Jensen and sister of Mrs Mantina Jensen and Alvin Keller of Tremonton died at home Tuesday night from apoplexy and paralysis after a week of illness. She leaves a husband three children and many relatives. Funeral services were held at the First ward meeting house yesterday afternoon with family members in attendance.

Garland Town Case Dismissed Over Ordinance Gap

In Justice Burdett Smith's court last Saturday the Town of Garland v C H Hales was dismissed due to missing ordinance coverage. Hales was re arrested by Marshal Snook for a statu ary offense. The Utah v Hales case faced trial Thursday with no state attorney present. defense sought dismissal, which failed, and a venue change was granted. The case will proceed in Justice Hadley's court at Corinne precinct soon.

Ladies Self-Culture Club Meets at Wixom Home

Ladies' Self-Culture Club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Maggie Wixom's home with 18 members present. Guests were Mrs. Martha K. Shields and Mrs. Essie E. Foulger. Readings included "The Wedding March" and "Mary Andrews' Dinner Party" with a vocal solo by Mrs. Foulger. Refreshments followed and the group adjourned to meet in two weeks at Mrs. Ethel Lewis's residence.

Garland case remanded for trial on merits

Atty. J. D. Call of Brigham City reports that the Town of Garland versus Owens Orgil Hales Sylvester Pierson and the three Grover boys appealed to the Supreme Court has been sent back to the District Court of Box Elder county with instructions for Judge Maughan to try the case on its merits.

Brown Saloon Case At Collinston Faces County Commission

Dr. R J Smith and others sue A M Brown to revoke his Collinston liquor license alleging a disorderly house illegal sales to minors and Sunday violations. Hearings reveal gambling and beer sales claims with clashes between Brown and Smith. Case adjourned to Monday as tensions rise among townspeople.

Baby Born On Moving Train in Bear River Canyon

A woman traveling with her husband on a train from Shoshone Idaho to Salt Lake City delivered a baby in the coach as the train entered a tunnel in Bear River Canyon. A doctor aboard provided care and the mother and newborn were helped to stay comfortable during the journey to L D 8 Hospital.
