At Bishop A R Japener’s home on Wednesday night Garland ward teachers and guests enjoyed a social and supper. Attendees included state presidency ward bishopric and other ward members. The program featured songs prayers remarks readings solos and musical numbers followed by refreshments.
A grand ball will be held at the Garland ball tonight to raise funds for Meredith Rogers who departs Salt Lake on December 7 to perform missionary labors in the eastern states. Everyone is invited to attend and help swell the purse.
Four year old child of Mr and Mrs Hall of Garland North was severely kicked by a horse on Tuesday. The force crushed the outer skull plate but the child is favorably recovering.
The estate of Joseph M Harris deceased offers private sale of farm implements cattle and household goods including 25 head of cattle at Blind Springs Box Elder County Utah on or after Monday December 19 1910 at noon. Miss NS Petersen daughter of N Petersen of this city wed Geo I Daly of Stone Idaho in Malad Idaho last Monday. They hosted a grand wedding dance at Stone last Saturday and will make their home in Stone. Congratulations.
Willie Olsen of Bingham son of Jos RK Olsen and newly elected county sheriff sustained a broken leg Wednesday morning when his horse slipped near R D Crompton's place. Dr Rich set the bone and Olsen is improving.
Prof Zaydah a noted hyp notist and mind reader entertained Garland and nearby residents Tuesday and Wednesday. He performed blindfold drives a hidden knife locating pins and hooks and a street ball demonstration before crowds at the hall and opera house. Some call him a fake but many witnesses praised his feats and entertainment value.

Town Board met at the town hall Tuesday night with all members present except Trustee Edwards. They decided not to advertise in the Xmas edition of the Deseret News this year. A request from Salt Lake City to reduce coal prices was discussed and the clerk instructed to respond. the City Attorney to consult with state officials on any illegal coal price cartel and possible dissolution. The justice and marshal reports for October were accepted. The ordinance committee will present an early hour closing of saloon and billiard halls at the next regular session, and steps will be taken against 1910 poll tax delinquents.
A large non PARTisan mass convention held Friday elected John W. Peters as chairman. Nominations named Oleen N. Stohl by B C Call and Frank W. Fishburn by R M Jeppson. Jesse W. Hoopes asked to withdraw as he was not a candidate. Fishburn received 107 votes and Stohl 102 with the nomination then made unanimous.
Impressive funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the tabernacle for Sussanah P Boothe. Bishop Geo W Watkins presided as hymns and eulogies offered words of comfort and eternal life. Remains laid to rest in the cemetery awaiting the trumpet call. The program featured speakers from the Relief Society and local church leadership. A second note announces a Wednesday opera house performance on December 7 featuring lively music.
Last Sunday's services were presided by Bishop A R Capener. The choir sang For the Strength of the Hills We Bless Thee. Prayer by Peter Ross. Sacrament administered by Elders Matthew McMurtrie and Cephas Anderson. Organ solo by Prof Giles of Malad. Neils Nielson and family Almira H Orgill Fred L and Robert Coxy and James W George and family accepted as ward members. Speakers were Prof Giles Felix D Baid and Wm King. Singing Come O Thou King of Kings. Benediction by George Henrie. Attendance 121.
