Death of Miss Maggie Sasser in Typhoid Pneumonia
Miss Maggie Sasser a 17 year old daughter of Mrs Ava Sasser died at home early Monday morning from typhoid pneumonia following about five weeks illness Her sister Nora had died earlier Three and one half months ago Her funeral services were held at the residence then at the hall with ward officers presiding and speakers including W L Grover D B Manning and Bara C Robinson The remains were buried in the city cemetery with pallbearers and floral offerings noted.

Attendance Soars At 79th Mormon Conference Opening
The 79th semi annual conference of the Mormon church opened with about 16,000 in attendance, an overflow crowd of 500 in the morning, and 44,000 at two afternoon sessions. President Joseph F. Smith led a large gathering including nearly all church officials. George Reynolds was released as Sunday School union first assistant for health and David O. McKay advanced to fill the vacancy with Stephen L. Richards succeeding him.
