Ban Raised Strict Quarantine Adopted

At a Garland City Council special meeting on December 10 the ban on business was partially lifted allowing the Public Library and pool halls to open for purchase and play with restrictions. Masking would end and a strict quarantine policy would isolate cases and exposed persons for ten days, with released individuals masking seven days afterward. The column urges open commerce with strict quarantine and criticizes broad shutdowns, citing Black Death parallels and calling for real quarantine focused on the sick or exposed rather than all well people. The piece mirrors public debate and invites constructive discussion while condemning flaming rhetoric.
