The jury acquitted a man of causing a woman's death while convicting him on lesser charges in a Scott City case. Autopsy showed a meth overdose as the cause, and prosecutors said he distributed the drug. Sentencing was set for 3 pm October 12 at the Scott County Courthouse with a $50,000 bond.
The Fly Kansas Air Tour begins September 29 in Wellington and runs three days across nine Kansas cities ending in Newton. Presented by the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education and the Kansas Department of Transportation, it aims to raise awareness of community airports and inspire youth. Over 500 students are expected to visit airports. several dozen aircraft will participate.
