Denver AP reports that drought remains severe across Colorado Utah Montana Wyoming and New Mexico with water restrictions lingering while farmers in Montana and Colorado face delayed plantings. Wheat yields rise yet are threatened by ongoing dry conditions and depleted irrigation water threatening hay for livestock.

Mom gets 15 years for daughter's heroin overdose
Debra Gatlin Clair, 49, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter in Tiffany Clair’s 2001 heroin overdose death at the Clair apartment. The 15 year old had recently left a mental hospital where she was treated for drug problems and a suicide attempt. Witnesses testified the mother and daughter used heroin with Bradley Ray Waltermire, son of Clair’s former boyfriend.
