Garden City Arts schedules a juried photo show from 6 to 8 p.m. October 26 at 318 N. Main St. with student and adult works judged for prizes. On October 27, the Dia de los Muertos Festival runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Stevens Park with artists, musicians, dancers and an ofrenda contest.

Kansas City area man killed in Denver bar fire
A 29 year old Overland Park man Ross Richter was among five killed when a Denver bar Fero s Bar Grill burned to hide a crime. Denver police report three arrests and robbery as the motive. Richter worked for the Bureau of Land Management patrolling campgrounds and helping campers. He was a Kansas State University graduate who enjoyed hiking.
