Lili pounds Louisiana as rescue crews battle flood damage

Tropical Storm Lili weakened from a Category 4 hurricane to a tropical storm after landfall at Marsh Island. Winds near 100 mph, widespread wind and flood damage spread across Pointe Aux Chenes and Montegut. National Guard rescues navigated waist deep floodwaters as levees breached and many homes faced inundation and structural loss.

Bus passengers subdue man on I 75 near Lima

Three Greyhound passengers including an off duty female bus driver subdued Bobby Whitley 51 of Jackson Mich after he leaped at the driver and steering wheel saying he wanted to die. State troopers were already en route to the southbound bus on Interstate 75 in northwest Ohio Friday after the man claimed another passenger had a gun. The driver stopped the bus and, with passenger help, removed Whitley.
