Southwest Kansas residents report a $500 reward for information leading to arrests in the theft of caged catfish from Beymer Water Recreation Park Lake. Resurfacing to Begin Tuesday on Kansas and Buffalo Jones
Kansas Avenue from 3rd Street to Five Points and Buffalo Jones Avenue from Five Points to the railroad tracks will start resurfacing on Tuesday. City engineer Steven Cottrell says the project should take about five days weather permitting. Work on Kansas starts at 3rd Street heading west with the north half first, traffic reduced to one lane each direction. After completion the south lanes will be resurfaced in the same manner. Side streets will close until ready, and streets reopen at sunset daily. Buffalo Jones will be resurfaced similarly with Smith Land Company, Inc. of Garden City as contractor.
