Kansas House delays vote on tax hike bill amid school funding fight
The Kansas House postponed a vote on a two-year, 950 million revenue increase tied to higher income tax rates and repealing exemptions as lawmakers battle over a new K 12 school funding formula. The plan would raise rates to 3 and 5 percent, repeal the business tax exemption, boost liquor taxes, and extend incentives, with votes uncertain in both chambers.
