NFL eyes new commissioner and L.A. bid push
NFL owners moved toward a stronger Los Angeles stadium plan by approving $5 million grants to Los Angeles and Anaheim to gauge local support and by advancing a finalist list for the next commissioner. Dan Rooney and Jerry Richardson lead a committee to narrow 32 interviews to 3–5 names, with a July meeting planned to finalize nominees. Reggie Bush was denied No 5 by the competition committee, though he pledged 25 percent of jersey proceeds to Katrina recovery and will honor that pledge despite the ruling.
