Space food talk at high school reunion delights readers
Dale Sieling, former Natick Laboratories chief civilian technical director, shared how space meals evolved from pill like rations to flexible packets serving beef stroganoff and chicken a la king. He noted preserved foods require no water and extended subsistence time from 45–50 days to 90–100, recalling Lovell smuggling a corn beef sandwich aboard a mission.
