Budget blueprint passes House amid tax cut embrace
The House approved Reagan's reworked budget 244 to 155 for fiscal 1982 starting Oct 1, authorizing $695.5 billion in spending with a $37.7 billion deficit. The measure aligns with a three year, 30 percent personal income tax rate reduction. Rep James R Jones backed it with major reservations, calling the policy prudent.
