Holcomb falls to Colby in 4A-II semifinal showdown
Holcomb, led by pitcher Conner Van Cleave, suffers a 10-7 defeat to Colby in the Class 4A-II semifinals at Hugoton. Despite 12 team hits and a late rally, four Holcomb errors and Colby’s offense end the Longhorns’ season at 16-4. Van Cleave chose not to pitch in game one, relying on other arms, a decision he defends as warranted.
